8 Test Taking Tips for the Electrical PSI Exam

These electrical exam taking tips will help you. Here are some basic electrical test prep tips to keep in mind when getting ready for the big one.

Test taking tip #1

Give yourself enough time to study
Don't leave it until the last minute to cram.  Download and use the
Candidate Information Bulletin for testing info (it's FREE).

Test taking tip #2

Organize your study space
Make sure you have enough space to spread your code book and notes.
Have you got enough light? Is your chair comfortable? Get rid of all distractions.
Also, make sure you are comfortable so you can concentrate.

Test taking tip #3

Practice on old electrical tests. Many great resources are available on Amazon
Books like these use the format that the examiners use to get you familiarized with the exam.

Test taking tip #4

Explain your answers to others.
Get together with other electricians or visit forums online to discuss exam questions
and theories.

Test taking tip #5

Organize study groups with friends or join a seminar.

Test taking tip # 6

Sleep - This should be a no-brainer but many people stress too much the night prior
or cram all night. Just go to sleep.

Test taking tip # 7

Stay calm
This is not the time to panic, it’s only a test and if you fail, try again and prepare
better next time. Many students become paralyzed during the test. Take several
deep breaths and take it one step at a time.

Test taking tip # 8

Don’t rush
Many guys who rush through the test misunderstand directions or don’t catch
changes in the directions and fail a simple question. Don’t fall for their traps.
Remember to answer the questions you know first, then return to the beginning
and work on the rest.

We have the last few seminars already lined up, there is limited seating and I strongly recommend that you reserve a seat.  Alternatively, if you don't have time for a seminar and...
